An Undertaking for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities ( UCITS). It has as a principal objective to manage a portfolio of securities for the account of its shareholders. Each one of its shareholders holds an interest in a fraction of the fund, proportionally with the total number of shares issued by the open-end investment company. OEICs continually sell new shares to the public and redeem outstanding shares on demand, resulting in an increase or decrease of outstanding capital. Euroclear Clearing and Settlement glossary
